Downtown Westport Master Plan Final Report Ready For Presentation

WESTPORT, Conn. – Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe announced that the Downtown Steering Committee (DSC) will be presenting the final report of the Downtown Westport Master Plan to the Board of Selectmen on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium.

The Downtown Westport Master Plan report has been in the works for nearly a year.

The public, members of the Representative Town Meeting, Board of Finance and Planning & Zoning Commission are all invited.

“This has been a thorough and transparent planning process which truly engaged Westporters. I thank the members of the Downtown Steering Committee for their work,” Marpe said in a statement.

“The DSC exceeded my expectations and has produced a plan that is inclusive, visionary and which most importantly has a strong focus on implementation and financing. I look forward to the formal presentation of the Final Plan and am eager to begin the implementation process.”

The report combines roughly a year of work by the DSC, the town and suggestions from the public.

The meeting will be broadcast live on Cablevision Channel 79 and Frontier 99, with a live stream available on the town’s website, www.westportct.gov.
